It was a fun week in Taiwan for the Charming Yeangder Championship on the ADT. The golf course was immaculate and was truly a great test of golf, demanding in all aspects of the game.
I finished the tournament T37 with rounds of 68, 74, 78, 70 (+2). I showed flashes of brilliant play which is certainly encouraging going forward. Ultimately, I need to be more consistent over the course of an event in order to secure a high finish.
Every week and tournament is truly a learning experience. In order to succeed competing on this tour, I have to improve at becoming more comfortable with being uncomfortable. The long travel days leading up to tournaments, hour long bus/train rides to the course, completely different conditions every week are all factors that will make you uncomfortable. You might be asking yourself why would one want to play on a tour if they are uncomfortable? I believe that if I can learn to become more comfortable every week competing throughout Asia, I can compete anywhere in the world at the highest level. Ultimately, this tour will force you to become mentally stronger and in the long run, a much better player.
I am currently home in Bangkok for the week before heading back on the road for a three week stretch in Malaysia and then the Philippines.
Cheers,
Josh
