It was quite a surprise getting a last minute invitation to play in last week’s Philippine Open, Asia’s oldest National Open. The tournament was held at The Country Club which is located just outside of Manila. The course stretched to 7,800 yards with hazards and out of bounds bordering both sides of every hole. Needless to say, it is the most demanding golf course I have ever played.
It wasn’t the week I was looking for finishing the event T58th. However, making the cut with such little preparation on the difficult course is certainly a valuable experience and something to build off of. I have this week off before heading to Chengdu, China for a Monday qualifier on the PGA Tour China Series. Onwards and Upwards, Josh |
